The Days of the Week Song

Before we learn to talk about the weather today, it would be great to know what day of the week it is today. 

Step 1 - Watch Beth singing The Days of the Week Song - she's made one for each day of the school week for you. Move your body in any way that you like in response to the music. Can you move in time? Can you copy any of the signs? Can you sing along yourself?

Step 2 - Make your own set of labels for the days of the week using the document at the bottom of this page. Arrange them in order and see if you can tap or touch each day as you sing the names in the song? Just like Beth!

Step 3 - Can you find the correct day label to match the day today? You could look at the word that Beth holds up and match it to that. Maybe you could listen to the first sound in the day name and find that at the start of the word. If it's tricky, try compare just two that start with different sounds...

Step 3 - Can you sing the song on your own at home? Can you decide what the weather is like without seeing what Beth choosing? Find the symbol and try signing that type of weather too!
