Brand new maths game – Measuring in centimetres | The Topmarks Blog

Click here for a quiz about length and a video which will show you how to convert between metres (m) and centimetres (cm).

This can be tricky, so alternatively you could find a tape measure and measure the height of everyone in your family. It is important to know how to do this if you ever need to buy a bike.

Write down the height of each person in cm, then in metres and cm.

e.g.

 Mum 164cm 1m 64cm

What size bike would each person in your house need?

Use metric measures which are centimetres

There are 3 downloadable worksheets this week - see below.

Worksheets 1 and 2 are both about matching objects to measurements.  Worksheet 1 is easier than worksheet 2.

Worksheet 3 is the most challenging activity, you will need to use multiplication and division to solve length problems.
