Re: Confirmed case of Chickenpox5 November 2020 (by admin (admin)) |
We have a confirmed case of Chickenpox in school. Please see further information below which has been emailed to all parents and carers.
Dear Parents/Carers
Today we have had a confirmed a case of Chickenpox at Addington, in KS2. The government guidelines state;
‘Some medical conditions make children vulnerable to infections that would rarely be serious in most children, these include those being treated for leukaemia or other cancers, on high doses of steroids and with conditions that seriously reduce immunity. These children are particularly vulnerable to chickenpox, measles or parvovirus B19 and, if exposed to either of these, the parent/carer should be informed promptly and further medical advice sought.’
If your child does contract chickenpox, please do not return them to school until all vesicles have crusted over.
I am hoping that we will not get any further cases of chickenpox in the school. However, if your child does develop symptoms, which are confirmed as Chickenpox, please let the school know so that we can identify classes particularly at risk.
Many thanks
